I am originally from Nicaragua and have lived most of my life in Miami. In my teens, I began interning in a dental office through a work/study program and loved the profession. I pursued a degree in biology at FIU. These were my early steps in a lifelong love of learning that I have continued through study clubs that meet regularly to explore topics in dentistry. Currently, I am a member of Ceola-Helo, which is a local study club.
Where did you study dentistry?

Why did you decide to become a dentist?
I developed an interest in dentistry in high school and never let go! I enjoy serving my community, and I get to better people’s lives by implementing techniques and procedures that a dental team can provide. The one-on-one interactions with my patients and team offer me a great satisfaction on a daily basis.
What locations do you work at?
A New Smile, and I also do volunteer work at Robert Morgan Educational Center, where I have been a volunteer for about 15 years.
What do you like to do outside of the dental office?
I like creative pursuits in arts and crafts such as making greeting cards and embroidery. I also love traveling and learning about other cultures. In addition, I enjoy reading and movies.
